The 6,465 yard Ironwood Golf Course is the heart of the community and was designed by David Wallace in 1962. This golf course is owned and operated by the city of Gainesville and is an 18-hole, par-72 course. According to the City of Gainesville “Ironwood Golf Course has an outstanding layout sculptured around century-old pines and shimmering lakes. The contoured fairways and strategically placed bunkers offer every level of golfer a tremendous opportunity to test their skills.” This course is open to the public and the rates for an 18-hole round follows: Weekday – $21.20, Weekend – $37.50. Ironwood is zoned for Rawlings Elementary, Bishop Middle, and Eastside High School.
