It all began in Chicago, IL where I was born to a young immigrant couple from South Korea. My parents, James and Helen, came to the United States with only a hundred dollars in their pocket and a dream of making a better life. I learned from a very early age that nothing can substitute for hard work and a dedication towards meeting goals. On more than one occasion, my father told me that working hard allows you to help more people. To this day, this simple statement drives me. I graduated from the University of Illinois and began to work immediately for a startup Internet company. During my off hours, I partnered with a good friend and started a freelance design firm. Through these experiences, I learned first hand the importance of giving exceptional care towards your clientele. Nothing is more satisfying than exceeding your clients expectations. The fast pace and constant growth was exciting, but in 2003 my life was about to change for the better. That’s the year my wife, Bethany, and I got married and I was starting a family of my own. With the desire to be more available for my wife and the children we hoped to have, I invested in a business in the city of Gainesville, Florida. I am proud to call Gainesville my home. It is here that Bethany and I had our 3 children, and we love all the amenities the city provides for our family. In 2008, we bought our first home, and we had an incredible experience with our real estate agent. This is where my love for real estate began to take shape. As a first-time homebuyer, I found the process to be daunting, but our agent offered the expertise and guidance we needed to find the house we now call home. It is now my privilege to offer this guidance and expertise to other homebuyers. I hope to use over 15 years of experience of being in the Gainesville area, both as a business owner and a resident to help others realize their dreams. Finally and most importantly, I have learned through my faith in Jesus Christ that above everything else love always prevails. There is no greater joy than to love and care for others. In 2008, I agreed to serve part-time as a college pastor here at a local church where I have had the privilege of shaping the lives of young college students. Through this experience, I have seen the immense value of building relationships. Relationships that I can be a loving influence and find myself being loved in return. Not only do I want to help others through my experiences in Gainesville, but what I look forward to most is building relationships.
